About this deal

These are the best portable espresso makers and they will blow your mind and your tastebuds without blowing up your wallet.

After a few attempts, we were achieving gorgeously smooth, rich cremas with every shot, thanks to those 18 bars of pressure forcing hot water through the coffee grinds. When you’re looking for a travel-friendly espresso machine, the Minipresso does the job well. It’s portable, lightweight, and easy to use. In our opinion, the Minipresso is a well-designed espresso maker, and the quality of the espresso it brews is excellent as well. This machine can brew multiple coffee blends, and best of all; the espresso has an intense, robust flavor with an impressive crema in the end. With the Nanopresso, pressure is created through a little pump lever that pops out of the side of the main canister. It’s also easy to be consistent with the Picopresso. It’s a bit more forgiving when it comes to grind size and the pressure you need to exert due to its pump design. On a good day, I will even say that the shots can be compared to the Flair Classic.

Capsule to cup with ease

To repressurize your Nanopresso, you will need to run hot water through it. To do that, add hot water to the water tank and attach it onto the body of your Nanopresso. Do not attach the portafilter or head to the Nanopresso. Instead, turn your Nanopresso over and start pumping to run the hot water through the gasket. Do this over a wide mouth mug or bowl to catch the hot water. In look, price, and experience, the Nanopresso couldn’t be further than the top of the range espresso machines we’ve reviewed. And yet the taste is almost on par. It is more of a faff, it does involve boiling water and finding a flat spot if you’re outside, but the end result is seriously impressive. The Nanopresso is designed to be used with well-tamped and finely-ground coffee. Because of the pumping system, it uses less force than the previous model, the first generation Minipresso. The quality of coffee is extremely good due to the pressure, but it’s very important to get the grind right. You can buy the Wacaco Nanopresso online here. What do you need to use the Wacaco Nanopresso? Nanopresso is made by a company called Wacaco. They also make the Minipresso, a slightly larger predecessor coming in at about 7 inches in length versus about 6 inches for the nano. THE WHERE: Where in your video(s) do you show where the little ‘gizmo’ is (I think) near the little ORANGE “X” on the bottom of the Nanopresso to switch from pressurized to non-pressurized?

I agree with Mark, Simon. You’re a natural in many ways. Also the best reviewer I’ve seen on YouTube. Teaching, and presenting the material intelligently, but with subtle good humor. The outdoor sessions and your lab who- like all pets- reflects who we are. Now… don’t get a swelled head!I used a 1Presso Mini Grinder adjusted for finer than indicated by 1Presso for espresso. Dark roast. Preheated with boiling water. Here’s the odd thing….possibly: It does NOT matter if I tamp “moderately hard”, leave room for the porta filer to finish tamping as you suggested, or tamp VERY hard…. the stream seems ideal: Steady and strong while pumping, with no dripping. Since not overextracted, the coffee does not have a bitter taste.
